Purpose of the Job :

As part of the Planning, Analytics and Agile team, the Agile Team Lead will play a key role in the adoption and execution of Agile principles with the overall objective of enhancing and growing the Meridian brand.

The Agile Team Lead will be tasked with contributing to building an Agile culture from the bottum up. This will involve increasing process efficiency, motivating and coaching the Marketing team on Agile practices and ensuring that all work is completed at high quality and in a timely manner.

These objectives will be accomplished through promotion of methods including Scrum, Kanban or Scrumban. In addition to this, the Agile Team Lead will use their experience and vast knowledge of Marketing to assist Demand Generation teams with planning and tactics and ultimately measurement of these to achieve business objectives.

The successful candidate will be recognized as the Agile expert, have a passion for people, promote continuous improvement, and encourage collaboration.

Key Responsibilities : Agile Coaching

Agile Coaching

Promoting and directing Agile best practices within the team and broader organization for increased adoption and usage.

Helping stakeholders understand the importance of Agile practices and benefits across all groups of the organization

Coaching self-organization, prioritization, and management of cross-functional duties within the Marketing team.

Encouraging peers to continually adapt and evolve in an ever changing environment.

Agile Management

Facilitating Agile processes which could include daily stand-ups, retrospectives, board / sprint planning, and WIP prioritization.

Strong conflict resolution with the ability to remove obstacles for teams to remain focused on tasks during execution stages.

Creating an open forum space for team to voice feedback, concerns and needs.

Ensuring open communication regarding status of all Agile projects across the organization.

  • Takes an organization wide perspective to solve issues and meet objectives.
  • Marketing Insights / Analysis

    Knowledge of industry trends, new principles, and experience will advise Demand Generation teams on potential tactics, and best measurement practices to grow the Meridian brand while meeting key success measures

    Provide ad-hoc reporting to clients for use in future marketing tactics or management of existing tactics / campaigns

    Encouraging the management and consideration of budgets to ensure initiatives / tactics are generating positive ROIs.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience :

    Skills / Abilities

    Ability to communicate effectively while forming strong bonds across departments

    Possess a strong attention to detail; be concise without comprising the facts

    Well organized with the goal of meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment

    Strong problem solving with excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and lead small teams

    Technical

    Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint)

    A working knowledge of data management programs such as SQL or SAS

    Experience with Agile software such as Jira, VersionOne or PivotalTracker considered an asset

    Basic Qualifications

    Post secondary education, preferably with a focus in Marketing, Mathematics or Business

    Certification in an Agile framework, including but not limited to Scrum Master , Kanban Management Professional , etc.

    2 years+ of Agile marketing framework experience

    Experience in Marketing considered a significant asset which would include product management, marketing communications, market intelligence, etc.

    Preferred Experience

    Previous experience in business, specifically a financial institution would be beneficial

    5 years+ of Agile experience
