The opportunity :

Opentext Enterprise Information Management (EIM) technologies and business solutions allow organizations to take full advantage of enterprise information to gain better business insight, capitalize on opportunities to positively impact the business, improve process velocity, reduce risks related to information governance, and protect sensitive information and intellectual property from internal leaks and external threats.

Principal Responsibilities / Objectives :

  • The Cloud Director will work closely with the executive leadership and their peers across the entire Cloud Ops organization and other key business decision-makers in identifying and implement cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the EMS Cloud business.
  • The Director of Cloud has the ultimate responsibility of identifying and designing and automating current and future deployment solutions that will drive the productivity of our cloud solutions and teams that use them.

  • Leadership / Supervisory Role : The Director first and foremost is a high-level departmental leader who develops and maintains the cloud team’s strategic road map, ensuring that information technology capabilities continually support the overall business’s goals and objectives.
  • The Director creates and implements policies and procedures that enable strong performance and highly available cloud capabilities.
  • In this leadership position, the Director explores new technologies and tools as appropriate and in conjunction with the VP oversees the architecture and implementation of ongoing performance automation opportunities as well as cloud utilizations and budgets.

  • The Director oversees all cloud activities as it relates to performance, resiliency, and budgets. within the department as well as the recommendation and implementation of new investments within their domain.
  • They assume responsibility of oversight of the entire echo system ensuring proper configuration, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of security all cloud objects where necessary.

  • In this capacity, the Director also plays a mentorship role to key personnel, promoting their professional growth, and readying them for the occupation of their position in the future.
  • Collaboration and Support : The role of the Director is a collaborative one and, as such, they build a collaborative culture within the department and partners with various departments within the organization.
  • The Director will collaborate with other department in deciding the department’s financial needs as well as the financial allocation amongst departmental teams.

  • The Director must have a BA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any other related field. An equivalent of the same in practical experience is also acceptable for the position.
  • What it takes :

  • A candidate for this position must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a senior IT position within a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment, preferably working as a Head of IT or running a cloud environment.
  • Must have a deep understanding of Google cloud services and knowledge of a stretched network utilizing make sure their team adheres to a solid disaster recovery, performance and resiliency program in a Google cloud environment.
  • The Director will also demonstrate experience with a wide variety of productivity and business software and have a proven track record of creative solution delivery and delivery on business needs.
  • He / She must demonstrate an intimate understanding of Cloud architectures and application technologies and has built out a large cloud environment with at least 4 million in annual spend.
  • Skills :

  • The candidate must demonstrate exceptionally strong leadership skills, having an ability to influence a cross-functional group towards a unified direction and having an ability to influence senior business leadership.
  • He / She must also be a people person who inspires trust and confidence in others, enabling them to easily trust in his insights and judgments and readily follow in his directives
  • Really catch our eye :

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Information Management services, data centers, ticketing system implementations, monitoring software implementation, Automation tools (Ansible), troubleshooting, and continuous improvement approaches and transition these skills / approaches to a Cloud Services environment.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes deployments

  • Skill and knowledge in ITIL processes related to Incident Management, Service Requests, Event Management, Access Management, Change Management, Knowledge Management and Escalated Incident Management
  • Champion Cloud Services’ involvement in the cloud organization's innovation efforts and its role in experimenting with new solutions to take advantage of business opportunities.
