The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Stirling Grill, the Stirling Lounge, the Creekside Patio, and other Dining areas at the Malcolm Hotel, in the absence of the Manager.
The Assistant Restaurant Manager is an ambassador for the brand, providing leadership, direction, and guidance to the whole team, ensuring the highest level of customer service while managing costs.
Some of the job duties include but are not limited to :
Maintains productivity, ensures cleanliness of restaurant and equipment.
Assists staff in overall operations in absence of the Manager.
Ensures all Health and Safety and Food Safe procedures are followed.
Weekly inventory of supplies.
Assists with the month end process by reviewing invoices and payroll costs.
Assists with recruitment and training of new staff.
Assists with monitoring cash deposits, cash- outs and floats.
Effectively handles any guest complaints, ensuring the highest levels of guest satisfaction.
Monitors catering events to ensure they are properly prepped, set-up and torn down.
Manages gratuity system for the team.
Ensures all colleagues take their break. (covers break if required)
Discusses company policies and procedures as outlined in employee handbook, including grooming and uniform policies.
Conducts employee reviews and manages performance.
Prerequisites : The ideal candidate will possess a ProServe certificate, outstanding, leadership and management skills and extensive hands-on experience.
Education : Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have excellent verbal, written and computer system skills.
Experience : Must have 1+ years of experience as a Supervisor or Manager in a comparable establishment.
