The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing onsite service support to our customers by inspecting and diagnosing AV equipment on an as needed basis.
They will assist in maintaining solid customer relations through quality customer service, and superb problem-solving skills.
As a member of the Client Support & Services Division, the Field Service Technician will report to the Service Manager who will oversee the day to day scheduling for this role.
Responsibilities included but not limited to :
Program and configure various manufacturer’s DSP systems platforms, control automation systems, digital video switching and distribution systems, telephone hybrids, video conference codecs, TCP / IP networks and network equipment.
Diagnosis of configuration and wiring errors and ensuring that corrective action is taken.
Repetitive testing of all audio-visual functions to ensure that the control system is functioning as intended.
Ability to interpret drawings and update team on any required changes.
Work within the company’s health & safety and operational policies & procedures.
Travel and work flexible hours, as required.
On-Call Rotation compensated with pager pay.
Experience & Qualifications :
Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience
Knowledge of AV management software e.g. Creston Fusion and XiO Cloud, Audio DSP platforms : Biamp Tesira, Q-Sys, BSS London Control system platforms : Crestron, AMX, Extron
Ability to perform work outside of the office either at customer sites and / or other offices
Must be able to lift, push and pull 60 pounds
Must be able to do repetitive bending and stretching
Valid Ontario G-Class Driver License with a clean driving record
Flexiblity in scheduling is required - service calls will be scheduled primarily during normal business hours, howeveron occasion some service calls will take place after hours.
