We are looking for passionate and talented resources with interest, skills and experience across a broad range of technologies to support the design, implementation, and support of Cloud and Infrastructure related projects bringing business benefits to our clients.

This position provides expert level consulting, technical planning, project management, technical design / architecture, hands-

on implementation and operational support for our client’s. The ideal candidate for this role will be an IT generalist that can hit the ground running on a diverse set of projects, while also balancing escalated operational support from within our Managed Services team.

While considered a generalist, this individual will also be regarded as a subject matter expert for specific technology areas such as Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, or VMware and storage technologies for example and as such, will be expected to provide escalated operational support for managed services clients and mentor less experienced team members.

The successful candidate will need to have a broad technical background and be fully experienced in providing both consulting and operational support related to the design, delivery, and implementation of technical solutions and operational support for Microserve’s customers.

Responsibilities Projects and Consulting

Works closely with the Account Executives in the presales stage to qualify clients, propose, and implement best-fit technical solutions across a wide array of products to meet client needs Responsible for writing comprehensive proposals and Statements of Work detailing the delivery of solutions and services with an emphasis on solution design, project planning, and task estimation Responsible for hands-

on implementation of proposed technology solutions; either independently, as a project lead, a team member depending on the engagement Contribute to writing comprehensive proposals and large RFI / RFQ / RFPs Engages clients directly and confidently to understand their specific environments and business requirements, providing clear guidance as a trusted advisor to their IT departments

  • Continuous learning and advancement of technical skills as required to best support your clients, including self-study, lab time and pursuit of relevant certifications as a part of an annual training plan
  • Research, design, plan, coordinate, deploy and maintain IT infrastructure upgrades, enhancements, improvements s and / or newly required service deployment solutions leveraging a variety of technologies;
  • Infrastructure projects will vary in size, scope, and complexity Acts as a subject matter expert and provide support, guidance and mentorship to other team members, including providing support for escalated client issues and assisting with training Provides third level system support that is primarily composed of advanced administrative tasks or troubleshooting that leave considerable room for interpretation, which could include performing hardware and software troubleshooting for equipment such as servers, network infrastructure, desktops, phone systems, videoconferencing equipment, related applications, or other technologies Perform scheduled, proactive maintenance for support equipment including server, applications, and network equipment (including scheduled after-hours maintenance)

  • Available to participate in escalated after-hours on call (24 / 7) pager rotation
  • Assist in creation, documentation and ongoing development of process documentation for Microserve’s team
  • Remains current on operational system administration procedures and best practices and ensures learning is documented and disseminated to the managed services team.

    Adhere to Microserve ITSM policies, procedures and best practices including weekly timesheet and expense submission

  • Anything and everything that contributes to Microserve’s ability to deliver the best possible service to our clients, and helps us to consistently exceed their expectations
  • Qualifications and Education Requirements

    Technical Skill Requirements :

    Computer Science degree or equivalent post-secondary education Strong ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex problems through to resolution Expert knowledge in Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016 VMware ESXi and Hyper-

    Expert knowledge of virtualization, both on premise and private / public cloud (VMWare ESXi / vSphere / vCenter / vCloud, Azure, AWS) Expert knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory (including DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, NTFS) Expert knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2010 / 2013 / 2016 & Office365 Strong knowledge of Networking technologies (such as Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, HP) Experience designing and implementing Server, Storage, Network and High Availability Infrastructure solutions Experience managing backup and recovery processes and SANs utilizing products such as Veeam, BackupExec, NetApp, IBM, 3Par and EMC.

    A strong understanding of backup and recovery solutions including products such as Veeam, Veritas, or Commvault Up-to-date expertise and certifications related to specific software / hardware manufacturers.

    Eg : Microsoft (MCSE and / or MCITP), VMware (VCP / VCAP-DCD / VCAP-DCA / VCDX / VCP-DT), x86 servers (Dell, HP and / or IBM), SAN / NAS Storage (experience with HP, EMC, and / or IBM preferred), Citrix (CCNA / CCIE / CCIA) Experience working in Enterprise-scale IT environments

    Professional Skill Requirements :

  • Minimum 5 years of experience providing IT consulting and leading projects 2+ years of related technical pre-sales experience preferred;
  • including the ability to lead proposal creation (Statements of Work, RFI,RFQ, RFP), Project Planning & Management, Technical Solution Design & Implementation Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to express complex technical concepts, issues and ideas into various media;
  • proposals, white papers, presentations and architecture designs to a variety of audiences Ability to communicate complex technical solutions to a business and / or functional audience Exceptional customer service, and professional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills Excellent technical design and documentation skills and be able to mentor other team members and help with the design, build, and operations of various solutions Extensive experience leading or being a member of successful project teams Must be effective at managing multiple projects / tasks of varying complexities, meeting deadlines and working well under pressure, along with proven analytical and creative problem-

    solving abilities. understanding of IT Service Management best practices; ITIL certification would be considered an asset Self-

    starter able to work with minimal supervision and guidance
