About the Role :

  • Manage and monitor the work in progress on a daily basis in order to meet delivery commitments.
  • Assign tasks to mechanics based on their knowledge and skills.
  • Manage work schedules.
  • Ensure proper completion and processing of timesheets.
  • Ensure the preparation of equipment in compliance with the sales contract.
  • Develop workshop procedures in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage recruitment and performance appraisal of technicians, as well as their training requirements, in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Take part in the preparation of workshop budget.
  • Approve all purchase orders for the workshop.
  • Take part in opening and closing work orders as required.
  • Maintain level of work in progress (WIP) according to Company criteria.
  • Prepare and submit warranty claims in a timely manner.
  • Assist with Parts and Service quotes.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Take all appropriate actions to prevent hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Service Manager.
  • Qualifications :

  • Must be certified with a Mechanical Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair with at least 5 to 7 years of experience as Supervisor or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of construction and forestry equipment is a definite asset.
  • Skillful at building strong relationships.
  • Act with professionalism and integrity; demonstrate an active interest in promoting safety awareness in the workplace;
  • motivate, support and inspire direct reports; build strong, cohesive teams.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Outlook.
