Your opportunity

Our National Office in Toronto is seeking an Application Specialist to join the National Assurance and Accounting, Automation Team.

The position requires you to speak, read and write fluently in French and English. You will work as part of a team that develops templates and supports users in various applications within BDO's assurance and accounting practice.

This position encompasses template design & testing, software testing and deployment, report design and preparation, along with user support.

Templates are accounting and audit in nature and are developed mostly in MS Office in both English and French.

  • Maintain functional expertise in the BDO Canada’s accounting and audit applications

    Provide template design and maintenance based on content provided by the National Accounting and National Assurance departments

    Design and prepare internal-use reports to stakeholders

    Assist users with 'how to' questions

    Perform user acceptance testing of new software releases and deployment packages

    Prepare or assist in the development and delivery of training programs for users or IT

    Create or update internal publications and guidance including BDO Intranet postings

    Complete or assist with other projects or tasks as required

    Y our experience and education

    Must be bilingual (fluent in both French and English)

    Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role

    Familiarity with assurance and accounting is an asset

    Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative nature, and the ability to work in a team environment

    Strong computer skills and the ability to learn software quickly

    Proficiency in Microsoft Marcos / Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is an asset

    Proficiency in CaseWare Working Papers & template development (CaseView) is an asset

    Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, MS Project)

    Knowledge of PowerBI is an asset

    Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative nature, and the ability to work in a team environment
