ATCO is seeking a full time, permanent, Contract Demand & UFG Analyst to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, Gas Management, the Contract Demand Analyst supports the organizations efforts to ensure appropriate contracting of gas supply for the Distribution system.

The Analyst interacts with operations, engineering, BD, accounting, and regulatory functions to determine contracting levels.

The incumbent will make recommendations related to the assessment, financial impacts and closing of related contracts. Additionally, they will assist in the analysis of Unaccounted for Gas (UFG).

Will be responsible to assess various markets and create and update dashboards for various market analyses.

What You Get to Do :

  • Maintaining contract database with over 2,000 active contracts, updating all applicable parameters.
  • Monitor notifications and initiating requests for action.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with external commercial representatives.
  • Providing support for internal groups on various contracting questions.
  • Identify KPI’s to ensure that existing contract obligations are being met and well understood. This includes budgeting, reporting, interfacing with operational groups and regularly scheduled meetings which require documentation.
  • Performing the annual load forecast.
  • Unaccounted for Gas (UFG) analysis.
  • Support in the forecasting of monthly, quarterly, and annual expenses and providing information to financial reporting and planning groups which allows them to make more informed business decisions.
  • Support Regulatory group with applications, answer information requests and participate in regulatory filings.
  • Perform and assist in analysis as requested by Management, can include various system analysis such as market capture.
  • Create and manage various dashboards as required.

  • Assist in audits (internal and external).
  • Who You Are :

  • Technical Diploma (Computer science / Engineering / Business) or equivalent number of years of related work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and develop external client relationships.
  • Strong technical and technology skill set required, having experience in database management, CRM, knowledgeable in various modern software platforms, digital tools, and programs.
  • Ability to use APIs and program in various computer languages (e.g. python) will be a strong asset.

  • Work experience and understanding of commercial contracts terms and conditions, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Be able to analyze various aspects of a natural gas business arrangement (technical, financial, contractual, legal, operational, and marketing).
  • As the company representative, ability to demonstrate success in negotiating commercial contracts, self-starter with proven ability to understand, negotiate and risk assess commercial contracts and the specific contract contained therein.
