The Faculty of Trades and Technology is currently seeking an on-call auxiliary Auto Service Program Technician to support the functions of the Parts and Warehousing program.
This includes monitoring and providing resource instruction to students during the practical component of the program, as well as to maintain and operate a full service automotive parts counter and stock room.
This work may extend from a single day to several weeks.
Minimum qualifications include ten years recent experience in Auto Parts as a tradesperson, or equivalent experience with an Auto Parts TQ.
Also, demonstrated ability to anticipate, troubleshoot and update various computer systems, software and programs, two years’ experience with a computerized parts inventory management system pertinent to the Parts and Warehousing program / Auto Service Counter, and knowledge of Parts Catalogues.
also to communicate to students the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary for success in the Automotive Industry, knowledge of WHMIS and WorkSafe requirements, as well as extensive knowledge of the tools and specialty equipment used in the Automotive trade.
