Indigenous Program Manager (LOCATION : TORONTO)

Are you a seasoned manager with experience in developing, implementing program objectives within a not-for-profit organization?

Are you a practiced at managing programs, workgroups, and program service delivery? Do you have a firm understanding of Indigenous communities, issues, values, and traditions?

If so, then our client wants to hear from you.

This exciting, senior position is responsible for 8 direct reports and will plan, develop, implement, monitor the organization's program objectives.

Our ideal candidate will understand finances and ensures reporting requirement are met on time. To be our successful Program Manager candidate, you need to be organized, well-written, detail orientated and have previous experience in program management.

  • You have 3-5 years of not-for-profit experience.
  • 3-5 Program Management experience
  • Post-secondary education in Social Sciences, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years' Supervisory / management experience
  • You have a strong understanding and awareness of Indigenous culture. (First Nations, Inuit, and MÃ tis.)
  • You are both well written and have superior verbal English skills.
  • You are confident in using OfficeSuite : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • You are available to travel regular long distance and / or to local meetings / events. (Travel may be urgent and / or on short notice.)
  • You may be required to work evenings and weekends to attend meetings and special functions.
  • You have a Drivers' Licence.
  • If you have experience working in or with the Indigenous community, we'd love to hear about it, as this is a MUST for the role.
  • Program / Project Management certification is an asset
  • Key Responsibilities for our Program Manager :

    Support †Plan, Develop, Implement, Monitor, Review and Evaluate Program (50%) :

    Communication, Liaison, and Support †builds and maintains positive supportive stakeholder and funder partnerships (25%)

    Human Resources and Financial Management †supervises direct reports and participates in recruitment and selection process (20%) :

    Other †upgrades skill set and serves as a backup for the other Program Manager (5%)
