Director, Commercial Finance

Tobe based at 100 Midland Drive, Dieppe, NB.

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozenfood products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the UnitedStates and around the world.

We have twostate-of-the-art potato processing plants in PEI, one in Lethbridge, AB andanother in Jamestown, ND. Headquartered in Dieppe, NB, the company alsooperates an appetizer plant in Wheatley, ON and has sales office locations inToronto, Montreal and Boston.

Cavendish Farms is currently seeking a Directorof Commercial Finance to grow top-linerevenue and gross margin dollars by working closely with the Sales team in developingand implementing the company pricing and trade investment strategy.

This includes the ongoing development,implementation, and reporting of pricing and program spending, and modellingpricing actions and strategies.

As a key member of the Finance team, the Directorof Commercial Finance will also have responsibility to provide analyticsand recommendations on bids, and profitabilityenhancement initiatives.

Successful Candidate will possess the followingqualifications :

  • Education Required :
  • Post-secondary education inBusiness
  • Accounting Designation
  • Years of ExperienceRequired :
  • 10+ years of relevant workexperience required
  • Previous manufacturingexperience is considered an asset
  • Ability to communicateeffectively with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent leadershipcapabilities
  • Ability to manage multiplecritical tasks at once
  • Self-starter with a strongwork ethic; respect for commitments
  • Results driven, strategic,and analytical thinker
  • Computer proficiency inMicrosoft Office
  • Key responsibilities :

  • Provide leadership to the Trade Spendingand Pricing teams
  • Working with theSales team, develop trade investment and pricing strategies to ensure they areintegrated and effective in driving sales growth and profitability
  • Provide analysis and recommendations onpricing actions and strategy to improve the business
  • Review, approve, and provide insight onall pricing deals, targets, price lists, and pricing models
  • Responsible for reviewing, approving,and assisting in preparing company gross margin forecast and budget
  • Ensure trade investment processcontrols are in place and trade investment accruals are accurate
  • Champion process management within the Pricingand Trade teams while working closely with other departments and teams to meetcustomer expectations
  • Oversee internal reviews of tradeinvestment projections and total commercial spending to identify risks, gapsand opportunities
  • Work with sales and otherresources to provide market intelligence and risk analysis (gain / loss inpotential business, impact on marketing shares)
