Overview

You are a technical leader, responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, architecture, support, and implementation of solutions.

You have good experience in understanding and analysis of requirements and designing to build a robust and scalable code base that meets client requirements.

You are expected to take adequate steps of caution before making changes to enhance the existing legacy applications for the new project requirements.

You must possess the ability to work with technology focused peers and work on multiple projects concurrently. The incumbent should have excellent problem solving skills and technically troubleshoot the issues / problems by providing solutions.

You are someone with at least 8-10 years of progressive IT experience and a strong working knowledge in the Bank's technology or Retail Banking product areas.

To qualify for this role you should ideally have worked on agile projects in the past and capable of thriving on fast paced, challenging environment and must be proactive and dynamic, and demonstrate initiative and eagerness to learn.

In this role you will :

  • Actively participate in the requirements, design and build phases; delivering high quality deliverables.
  • Assist with planning and execution of unit, integration and user acceptance testing.
  • Ensure delivery of solutions within the stipulated timelines. Adapt to changing timelines and achieving efficient deliveries.
  • Provide technical expertise and ownership of technical solutions.
  • Collaborate and team with clients, partners, and colleagues on client sites. Continual focus on Customer Success.
  • Provide recommendations on standards surrounding systems architecture, application development, systems integration, data modelling, and testing
  • Perform reviews and walkthroughs of all major project deliverables to ensure the quality and completeness of functionality, meeting high availability, integrity and reliability requirements
  • Keep current on rapidly changing technological trends, self-teach new technologies and maintain an understanding of the Division's business and technology strategies.
  • Provide recommendations on standards surrounding systems architecture, application development, systems integration, data modelling, and testing
  • Perform reviews and walkthroughs of all major project deliverables to ensure the quality and completeness of functionality, meeting high availability, integrity and reliability requirements
  • Provides guidance and training to less experienced analysts and programmers
  • Are you the right person for the role?

  • You Have;
  • 8-10 years of experience developing and supporting applications on Cobol Mainframe and Assembler
  • Experienced working on DB2, Endevor, SAS, Netron CAP, ISPF, JCL, SDSF preferred.
  • Nice to have skills are SQL, IMS, IBM File Manager and Fault Analyzer
  • 8 years of experience of writing batch programs that access DB2 / SQL and IMS databases using JCL
  • Experienced working on Core Banking applications
  • Strong leadership potential and self-driven
  • Ability to work in an agile methodology or demonstrated experience is an asset
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills have vision and innovative approach to computer based solutions and ability to convey these ideas
  • Must be flexible to adapt to a dynamic environment, make quick and sound decisions under pressure
  • Must be reliable, pro-active, results-oriented, customer-focused and attentive to details
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional certifications like PMP, ITIL, Scrum Certification is an asset but not a must.
