The Department of Medicine in partnership with the O’Brien Institute for Public Health, Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary and Alberta Health Services, Calgary invites applications for a Contingent Term position of a qualified Nephrologist at the Assistant Professor level with expertise in knowledge translation and qualitative methods.

The successful candidate will develop an independent program of research in knowledge translation / implementation science using qualitative methods, with a focus on patient-

centered care. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to the academic and clinical mission of the University of Calgary Alberta Health Services and the Nephrology Program, with opportunities for a joint appointment with the Department of Community Health Sciences.

Qualifications include an MD, minimum MSc graduate degree and certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine or equivalent certification from another professional association, the completion of a fellowship in Nephrology and eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta.

Candidates must have evidence of strong clinical training, publication record and evidence of an emerging or established academic program of research.

The position provides up to 75% protected time for research and will also include clinical service and teaching at all levels of medical education.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop and expand an independent externally-funded research program within an outstanding collaborative environment.
