This opportunity reports to the Senior Leadership team of a long term home care facility, this is a fast paced environment. Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinating services on location for dietary, housekeeping, administration, maintenance, day programs, housekeeping and nursing.
  • Oversee standard operating procedures and programs.
  • Communicate with staff, clients, families and residents to continue to exceed client and family expectations.
  • Prepare annual operating budgets, monitor budgets ongoing for efficiencies in addition to preparing reports for the leadership team.
  • Oversee and contribute to the Occupational Health & Safety program to support an environment promoting a culture of safety from harm or injury.
  • Perform the day to day operations following practices outlined in legislation and regulations, policies and standard care.
  • Develop on-going relationships within the local community, external agencies and other health care facilities.
  • Oversee direct reports, take directive action as required.
  • Works closely with Senior Leadership Team and with union representatives.
  • Being on call 24 / 7 to handle situations as they arise.
  • Requirements

  • A graduate degree in Health Service Administration partnered with ten plus years of experience in a similar role in management or leadership.
  • An active CARNA (College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta) registration or other similar professional organization’s active membership.
  • Take personal ownership and responsibility for the long term care facility, follows guidelines, regulations, professional standards, you are reliable and value integrity.
  • You can adapt to changing priorities and requirements, apply versatility and reasoning in the face of change, works collaborate in a variety of situations with diverse individuals.
  • Expressing and transmitting information with consistency, active listening techniques to effectively understand responsibilities and mentor direct reports.
  • Makes well informed and thought out decisions that support the overall facility with the ability to make effective decisions when details may be limited.
  • Ability to set out realistic goals in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team focusing on the desired outcome, comfortable working under pressure.
  • Shows commitment to the organizations vision and strategic goals.
