The Role

We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager, currently seeking a unique challenge, to spearhead and develop our leap into US / Canadian territory.

The entrepreneurial candidate will be tasked with the grass-roots formation of our US office, hiring, leading & developing the US / Canadian sales team from the very start.

This role will lead the charge in maximising growth opportunities for new and existing clients across the pond, setting and excelling both team & personal targets.

Reporting to the CEO & Head of Sales in the UK, you will be responsible for your own person sales & targets as well as hiring, managing & growing your own sales team.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Hit the ground running by proactively and strategically targeting potential business
  • Structure your objectives by firstly setting team sales targets and subsequently the targets of your team
  • Communicate recruitment needs, supported by growth targets and workload
  • Articulate candidate requirements, liaising with our in-house recruiter but taking charge of the recruitment process and finding local solutions / agencies which could assist (NB : the successful candidate will need to be sufficiently analytical to forecast hiring needs)
  • Be responsible for building the sales team, informing the UK office of specific needs for training material for your territory
  • Hire,train and mentor team members to inculcate a sales mindset, commercial skills, assessing performance via annual reviews and one-to-ones
  • Define and implement appropriate sales strategies to meet demand
  • Identify, implement and report on new business opportunities
  • Manage and work on key accounts
  • Work closely with other teams to increase listings' visibility, in particular PR, content and translation teams
  • You'll need to be :

  • Comfortable working remotely alongside a global team - this is a must, as whilst you will have timely / necessary interaction and support from UK headquarters, the purpose of this role is to establish a new presence in Canada / North America and this will be the overarching focus.
  • This role has a high degree of autonomy and is a unique opportunity for someone looking to showcase their exceptional sales and managerial abilities and grab hold of market share in a new territory of huge strategic importance to Pitchup.

  • As a minimum you'll need :

  • Experience in sales and / or new business development (at least two years at a senior level)·
  • A proven track record of exceeding personal sales targets
  • Ideally worked for a scale-up or well-funded start-up
  • Demonstrable management of a well-defined sales and new business strategy
  • At least two years previous experience in managing (of at least 8 people) and hiring their own sales team
  • An understanding of ecommerce, tourism and leisure
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and customer insights to unearth new opportunities
  • Experience with CRM applications, ideally Salesforce
  • Package :

  • $80K CA + Bonus + OTE of $10K CA
  • Please note : This role is based in Montreal, Canada. We will only be considering applicants with work eligability in the required territory.

    An understanding of the US and Canadian market is a must.
