Mold Finisher Supervisor
Reporting to the Mold Maker Manager, the Mold Finisher Supervisor is responsible to oversee a team by participating, directing, and coordinating mold finishing activities and resources necessary for finishing molds in accordance with cost, quality and delivery.
Key Responsibilities include :
Collaborating with the Mold Maker Manager and Mold Making Supervisors to determine daily departmental requirements for all mold finishing on new tooling, repairs, and engineering changes.
Providing daily delegation or line ups to assigned group to meet daily requirements.
Oversees and assist finishing group when required to meet delivery requirements.
Work with QC for part to print process.
Assigns and / or performs work in the spotting process on or off site as required.
Accurately completes all internal and customer required tool build documentation, including work orders, progress sheets and check lists.
Ensures personal as well as associate understanding and compliance of IATF 16949 Standards, company policies and procedures.
During management system audit events provide evidence in support of conformance with applicable standards and procedures, participate in corrective action activities as necessary Maintaining and attending to the processing procedures taken to produce a tool.
Attending and participating in plant meetings including design review meetings
Attending and participating in first tryout activities and performing work on molds as required.
Provides on going recommendations for continuous improvement, efficiency improvements and cost reduction.
Tracking and meeting of assigned departmental measurables (quoted vs actual) & FTQ.
Participates in annual Performance Development Process.
Completes annual Performance Evaluations for hourly direct reports.
Identifies and communicates training needs to appropriate level.
Attends to the daily general interaction with direct reports.
Responsible for managing group shift schedules, attendance, and vacation scheduling.
Responsible for personal and group accurate reporting of labour hours (time tickets), jobs worked on and time worked for each shift for each direct report.
Oversee group to ensure that direct reports are complying with all internal policies and procedures as well as external legislation related to safety, employment standards, etc.
and participates in corrective action activities, as necessary.
Confers with the Mold Maker Manager as required to resolve any outstanding design or build issues and that those issues are effectively communicated and resolved to internal and external customers.
To follow Organizational codes, values, policies, practices, procedures, and instructions in the areas of quality, environmental health & safety, security, and business operations.
To support, implement, maintain, and promote Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT)
Initiatives, as required by related Organization security management systems procedures
MINIMUM EDUCATION / OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
Must possess a High School diploma
Must possess Mold Maker Certificate or equivalent work experience, preferably with emphasis with injection mold manufacturing and Leadership
OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
Fifteen (15) years' work experience as a Mold Finisher and / or Mold Maker.
Leadership & Supervisor experience preferred.
Strong understanding of tool process.
Sound knowledge of plastic part manufacturing and tooling.
