The Transit Market Sector at HDR is a broad and diverse practice that spans a large variety of project types including LRT, BRT, subway, metro and heavy rail.
We work with our clients across the project life-cycle including planning, preliminary design, detail design, construction oversight and program management.
HDR is seeking a Project Manager to lead transit-focused projects. The primary responsibilities include the management of multi-disciplinary assignments for transit facilities, infrastructure, on-corridor and off-corridor systems related projects.
The projects will range from feasibility studies and preliminary design to detailed design and construction administration.
This role requires active participation and occasionally leading key transit pursuits and proposal preparation. The candidate is expected to have a strong foundation in the transit industry, knowledge of client programs and experience managing multi-disciplinary project deliverables.
The selected individual will be responsible for client liaison and relationship building, management of the project team, technical disciplines and sub-consultants, driving project forecasting, cost controls and scheduling, ensuring quality assurance and coordinating other key project management elements.
The individual will define strategy as well as to drive day-to-day operational excellence, including on time submissions of project deliverables.
Additional responsibilities include managing monthly project progress and financial reporting to senior management.

Degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical) from a recognized university
PMP designation is preferred.
The candidate must have 7 years of project management experience in the transit industry managing multi-disciplinary design and construction projects.
Strong hands on experience and knowledge of project forecasting, cost controls and scheduling.
Strong advocate of quality assurance and control processes.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Good written and communication skills.
Experience with MS Office Suite, especially Excel; and scheduling software expertise required.
