We are currently looking for an Inside Sales Representative based in the Rexel Utility Newmarket branch. The Inside Sales Representative is in direct contact with purchasing, sales force and the customers over the telephone and in person.

Responsible to assess the job requirements and effectively process inquiries and orders and to expedite delivery of products to satisfy the needs of the customer

Responsibilities :

  • Assesses job requirements and verifies stock availability of orders. Offers alternative non-stock items depending on specifications.
  • Offers pricing terms in accordance with established margins and sources with existing suppliers to obtain price and delivery terms for non-stock items.

  • Processes orders to completion and verifies with a generated computer ticket to ensure acceptance of the order. Maintains a back-up record of all customer orders produced.
  • Maintains pricing and cost books so as to provide accurate and efficient information to customers.

  • Prepares quotations on urgent contracting jobs offering pricing, delivery and availability of non-stock items.
  • Offers product knowledge and information to customers and confirms details of delivery according to scheduled times and commitment dates.
  • Providing assistance to the warehouse and counter areas.
  • Verifies all items are available for the customer as scheduled and obtains stocking information off the system to determine causes for discrepancies.
  • Notifies Sales Representative or the Purchasing department of low stock or errors in the inventory count.

  • Maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Confirming stock availability and suggesting alternatives.
  • Skills / Experience :

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal & written and an ability to impart knowledge.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of electrical experience is required.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy – proficient with all Microsoft Office and familiar with the AS400.
  • Experience in the utility business is an added advantage.
  • Training in EPEC Silver / Inside Sales Margin Improvement Course / Customer Service Excellence Course would be an asset.
