Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Maintenance Manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities concerned with design, construction, modification and maintenance of equipment and machinery in industrial plant.
Responsible for the overall management of facility mechanical, electrical & instrumental / control activities. This primarily includes long term planning, scheduling, and strategic development of all maintenance activities on boilers, turbines and associated equipment.
The individual will be responsible for providing annual budgeting information and monthly forecasting up-dates.
The Maintenance Manager will direct the mechanical lead hand, technicians and contractors on all daily and long term maintenance activities including prioritizing work activities, preventive maintenance scheduling, scheduled / unscheduled boiler, turbine generator outages and plant preservation projects.
The individual must possess the ability to create an environment that empowers employees to drive change and improve systems.
Be able to train employees on proper maintenance work and trouble shooting skills.
Preference given to individuals holding a First Class Power Engineering Ticket.
EfW maintenance experience or a solid background in power and / or industrial plant maintenance including a minimum of 5 years supervisor experience to be considered for this position.
In addition, we require the following technology and maintenance requirements :
1) must be able to identify needs for improvement and implement change
2) must have knowledge of maintenance budgeting and methodologies
3) must manage spare parts inventory to optimum levels
4) good computer skills, able to work with ALM, MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Peoplesoft, MS Project
5) must possess good knowledge of electrical and instrumentation.
Requires an extensive background in plant maintenance including at least three (3) years in operations and five (5) years in in the repair and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment.
The ideal candidate will possess a BC Industrial Electrician or Industrial Millwright, or Community College Technologist in Electrical / Instrumentation or Mechanical disciplines and experience in solid fuel power generation facility would be an asset.
Strong knowledge in welding and fabrication as it applies to boiler construction is a requirement.
Thorough understanding of Boilers, Turbines, air Compressors, Pumps and Conveyor Systems.
General knowledge and / or experience in industrial safety are required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A high level of proficiency with DCS and CEMs maintenance is a requirement of this role.
Prior commissioning experience is an asset. Must be able to read and interpret drawings and blueprints and instruct staff based on this information.
