Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) is the process of identifying, capturing, analyzing, informing, mitigating and controlling the end to end risks presented to a BNP Paribas entity, its data, its operations, its finance and its reputation when engaging in an arrangement with an external or internal party(s).

RISK ORC TPRM is a transversal field of expertise within RISK ORC, acting as the 2nd Line of Defense for the TPRM framework across CIB Americas.

The primary role of the RISK ORC Third Party Risk Officer is to provide relevant RISK and CIB / TPRM senior management a comprehensive, transparent, exhaustive and consistent view of Operational Risk across Third Party-related activities in the Americas.


BNPP is looking for a senior Third Party Risk Officer, at the Assistant Vice President level, to support Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) framework across CIB Americas.

The Third Party Risk Officer will contribute to the supervision of the end-to-end Operational Risk Management framework and more specifically :

  • Establish key relationships with the various stakeholders within the TPRM framework across CIB Americas :
  • Operational teams (1st LoD) : Third Party Coordinator, Operational Permanent Control (OPC) functions business owners, and

    Subject Matter Experts (1st LoD) : Procurement, Information Technology, Human Ressources, Corporate and Social Responsibility, Finance, and

    Subject Matter Experts (2nd LoD) : RISK (Operational Risk and Control (ORC) and Information, Technology and Continuity (ICT)), Compliance, Legal, Tax.

    Maintain policies around TPRM framework at 2nd LoD and ensure adherence of the TPRM framework across CIB Americas :

    to the Bank’s methodologies, policies, and standards, and

    to the Industry best practices (such as those set by the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC)).

    Perform assessment, monitoring and effective challenge of the TPRM framework on risk identification, risk assessment, risk mitigations and Key Risk Indicators (KRI) (incl.

    remediation or effectiveness of controls).

    Perform 2nd LoD independent challenge of the TRPM framework and of the operational risks and control inputs on an annual basis.

    Ensure correct recording of TPRM information in the corresponding Group database of critical Third Party arrangements.

    Participate to the monthly Vendor Acceptance Committee (VAC) and act as advisor and perform effective challenge.

    Prepare the quarterly Third Party Risk Committee (TPRC) and any further escalation or follow-up at higher level committees.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Math
  • Able to actively partner and network across various business lines and functions across the organization in the execution of responsibilities
  • Self-motivated and results oriented
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong communication, project management and presentation skills
  • Detailed oriented and very well organized
  • Gravitas and ability to challenge senior stakeholders in a constructive way
  • 5 years minimum experience in Audit, Compliance, Control or Third Party Risk Management role
  • Knowledge and proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, Excel

    Understanding of regulatory governance framework programs and standards such as Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission ( COSO), International Organization for Standardization (ISO 17799), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX,) and Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS 70) will be considered a plus

    Master Degree or CFA
