The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing oversight to maintenance department employees to safely and efficiently perform work activities and coordinating routine and non-

routine maintenance activities for the facility.

Responsibilities :

  • Provides overall maintenance and project coordination to ensure that work is executed safely and efficiently as planned and documented as performed
  • Works with the planning and management teams to document and align process for outside services
  • Coordinate O&M and Capital maintenance activities as prioritized through the Work Management program to ensure all work packages are well planned and organized, carried out safely when scheduled and executed;
  • ensure all work is completed as scheduled and documented in SAP; plan and coordinate emergency work while ensuring schedule compliance;
  • coordinate PM and Inspection work scheduled as priority work; and provide support to the Contractor Management Program

  • Conduct regular onsite inspections of the work being performed to ensure compliance to the identified work scope and that all known risks are identified
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures on all maintenance activities
  • Ensure that areas of responsibility meets safety (i.e. Employee, contractor, vehicle, process safety and environmental) requirements and regulations to support the zero incident culture
  • Support the Safe Work Plan. Supports the investigation and follow up from incidents within their area of responsibility
  • Support regulatory compliance for area of responsibility by monitoring compliance to programs within area of responsibility, participating in internal and external audits and supporting the development, implementation and reporting on corrective action plans
  • Oversee the development of maintenance procedures. Makes recommendations for the development of new and / or modifications to existing procedures.
  • Develops and reviews procedures and makes recommendations for approval of procedures

  • Coordinates orientation for new employees and is responsible for safety training requirements to ensure required training requirements are met.
  • Coordinates safety meetings for maintenance employees

  • Act as on site management representative and liaison when management team is off site
  • Qualifications : Required :

    Required :

  • Journeyperson or other Technical Certificate / diploma / license (e.g. Engineering, Gas Processing)
  • 5 years of experience in an industrial process plant environment, or an equivalent combination of technical and / or leadership training / experience
  • Proven Leader with relevant experience in supervision
  • Maintenance planning / execution
  • Operations and / or technical procedure writing
  • Health and Safety program experience, knowledge of industrial occupational health and safety requirements and hazards
  • Excellent communication ability and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to positively direct and motivate employees or teams toward common goals and to consistently achieve desired results
  • Computer skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Preferred :

  • Experience working in a sour gas plant. Strong maintenance and / or operations process background with troubleshooting and analytical skills : ability to identify, interpret, rationalize, analyze and solve problems
  • Knowledge of Work Management systems
  • Knowledge of Contract Management Programs
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Project management skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills : ability to identify, plan, prioritize and execute work objectives
  • Understanding of and respect for labour relations requirements within unionized work environment
  • Team Building Skills, ability to lead and participate in cross functional groups to develop projects and achieve goals
