As Team Lead, you will report to, and work closely with, the Regional Operations Manager to ensure the support needs of all individuals residing in the assigned home(s) are exceeded, while ensuring that staff members feel valued, motivated and committed to excellence in all their areas of responsibility.

Providing leadership and guidance in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, you will contribute to ensuring that the environment is safe and that the daily administrative requirements of operating the home(s) are achieved.

Ultimately, your success in this supporting leadership role will be a direct reflection of your ability to contribute directly to a positive experience for our Residential and Transitional Care clients and their families.

  • Full Time - Regularly scheduled hours of either Days, Evenings or Overnight shifts. Some weekend work required

  • PRIMARY DUTIES

    Leading by example in your assigned home(s) as Team Lead Residential and Transitional Care, you will :

  • Build strong relationships and rapport with all clients within the home, so as to gain a good understanding of their preferences, needs, triggers, responses, etc.
  • Coach and monitor staff to ensure everyone understands client care, individual support plans and behavioural support plans, escalating any performance concerns to the Regional Operations Manager
  • Ensure adherence to the meal plan and the recreation plan
  • Assist in providing orientation to new staff, to ensure continuity of support and care for individuals
  • Take inventory and order all household supplies and goods that have been approved by the Regional Operations Manager
  • Complete weekly reports and submit to the Management Team
  • Perform day-to-day audits of documentation
  • Track and identify trends and escalate issues accordingly
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment for clients and employees, by participating in staff safety training and home inspections, and ensuring compliance with standards and requirements
  • Sets an example to team members and provides direct front line care to clients as assigned
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    To take on the role of Team Lead Residential & Transitional Care , you must :

  • Have a certificate / degree from a related field such as a diploma in Behavioural Science, Developmental Service Worker, Child and Youth Yorker, Psychology, Social Work OR a Personal Support Worker certificate, in addition to a NACC certificate if you graduated from a private college
  • Bring at least one (1) year of experience in a hands-on role as well as in a leadership capacity
  • Hold current CPR and First Aid Certificates
  • Provide a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening obtained within the last 3 months
  • Provide evidence of a negative TB test within the last 12 months and an up-to-date Immunization Record
  • Have combined good oral and written communication skills with proven interpersonal abilities
  • Ideally, have related experience in areas such as mental health, working with youth and adults with behavioural problems
  • Have strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Be able to provide employee development and coaching in a teamwork environment
  • Be highly organized, flexible, detail-oriented and focused on excellence in customer service and client care.
