Description of Duties / Scope of Work
Our valued client will replace a number of ageing legacy applications as part of the SAP program. Three of the applications that will be replaced are the Personnel Payroll System, (including Time and Attendance), the General Ledger, and the Job Based Costing System (JBCS).
Parts of these systems will be decommissioned in stages to support a phased implementation approach.
The implementation of the new Payroll solution in SAP will be completed over two phases : (1) implementation of the core Payroll module in SAP;
2) implementation of the new system(s) to capture and evaluate work time (timesheets / time clock). Portions of the Personnel Payroll System will need to be retained in the first phase to provide evaluated time (work hours) to the new SAP Payroll module.
This will require re-structuring various modules to retain this functionality analysis and design work will be required as input to the development work (coding changes to the programs, coding changes to Jobs (JCL)).
The successful candidate will complete a detailed review of the Personnel Payroll System and Time and Attendance Systems and develop the necessary documentation to support design and development of the changes to these systems to support the program.
The Sr. Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for the following :
Complete a detailed review of the legacy Personnel Payroll System and Time and Attendance Systems to determine how to support the first and subsequent releases of the SAP Payroll module implementation
Complete the detailed design (functional) of the modules that need to be retained identifying any program and job (JCL) changes needed to continue to run the modules
Provide oversight and support to the mainframe developer who will code the changes to the programs and jobs (JCL)
Participate in testing the changes to the Personnel Payroll System and the end-to-end payroll processes including the SAP Payroll module
Participate in planning the production implementation
Particpate in Data Migration functional requirements, design, code and test in support of all SAP releases.
Supervision of other team members that may be required / involved in this specific work.
Mandatory Skills / Certification
Approximately 10-15 years hands-on analysis and design of mainframe applications.
Working knowledge / ability to read COBOL source code
Working knowledge / ability to read PL / 1 source code
Working knowledge / ability to read MVS JCL
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
Experience managing technical teams.
Post-secondary education in a related discipline.
Other Skills / Certification
Knowledge of the Personnel Payroll System, Time and Attendance, General Ledger, and Job Based Costing System (JBCS) an asset.
