  • As a member of Amazon's Vancouver, Canada based Vendor Self Service development team, you will be a key player in driving Amazon's Retail business;
  • the bread and butter of Amazon. The Vendor Self Service team is streamlining many of the business processes that run Amazon Retail.

    As a TPM in our group, you will drive future solutions that will impact how we run the Retail business worldwide and interface with many teams, both technical and non-

    technical, across the company. And most importantly, the Retail Systems team is composed of some awesome people, and you'll have a lot of fun!

    As a Software Development Manager you will wear many different hats and work on multiple components of the entire system.

    You will also help in defining the creative vision, product requirements, and user experience. Working with a cross-disciplinary team of analysts, designers and engineers, you will define and drive the product from concept all the way through to production.

    You should be a self-starter with a bias towards independent problem solving. Clear communication and prioritization will be important as you plan, design, and deliver the best experience for millions of customers.

    Your passion for the potential of using technology to improve people’s lives, and your experience leading complex technology projects will help you make strong business judgments.

    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field, such as computer science or engineering
  • 3+ years experience managing software development teams (with direct authority over development staff)
  • Experience forming teams and recruiting software engineers
  • Experience developing careers with highly-skilled software engineers
  • Strong design, architecture, and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience as a manager
  • Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and delivery incrementally to the right direction
  • A deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, and a track record of shipping software on time
  • Experience designing software architectures for scalability, reliability and performance
  • A passion for people management and mentorship
