As the Quality Engineer, you will be responsible to support driving quality using predefined processes and tools within Tangerine.
Responsibilities include test case design / execution, defect management and maximizing automation (API / UI) in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you?
In this role, you will :
Review requirements, specifications, user documentation, help files and other project documentation to assure quality of the products and tests to be developed;
i.e., scripting for manual test cases.
Support all testing activities within delivery team; maintain / execute both functional and non-functional manual and automated test scripts across various applications and devices, log and track defects to completion, provide testing updates and sign-offs etc
Work closely with Development within the scrum team and are able to contribute to development activities in sprint using an understanding of HTML, CSS and GIT
Understand the role of testing within the software development lifecycle and business-related project constraints and effectively advocate for the best possible customer experience of product quality within those parameters.
Take ownership in the creation of test project status reports and metrics (e.g., Dashboard, Release metrics) and ensure they are constantly evolving with changes at the team level
Participate in weekly test team meetings to provide test status updates, execution and development details.
Develop and maintain good professional working relationships, especially within the test team and with those who interact regularly with the test team.
Skills you need to succeed :
5+ years of working experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies preferred with a solid understanding of general project management, SDLC and TDLC principle
Working knowledge of web technologies such as SOAP, XML, HTML and CSS; Development experience an asset
Hands on experience with Mobile testing solutions such as Soasta Touchtest, PerfectoMobile UFT and SmartBear Test Complete etc.
Working experience in test planning / bug tracking tooling such as with JIRA, X-Ray, HP Quality Centre / ALM, or equivalent
Working experience with test automation tooling such as Selenium, Appium, WebdriverIO or equivalent and an understanding of coding structure and best practices
Experience with testing APIs and demonstrated ability to automate using industry standard tooling such as Postman, ReadyAPI etc
Experience working within a DevOps environment and understanding of CI / CD process and related tooling Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes an asset
A good understanding of accessibility requirements and WCAG 2.0 / 2.1 standards an asset
Familiar with Data externalization (SQL knowledge and understanding of relational databases)

You’ll collaborate with your team largely remotely - we’re all just a MS Team call away!
Tangerine headquarters is at our beautiful office in Toronto.
When it’s safe to do so again, you’ll have the option of working where you work best - whether that be majority at home or hot-desking at the office whenever you’d like.
When we are able to do so, we will also have the opportunity to make in-person connections at our Toronto office or during organization-wide events.
