Summary

The Diversified Analog Solutions team located in Ottawa, Canada is developing wireless integrated circuit components and has a challenging opportunity for an University Student available for a 12 month work term.

The successful university student will report to a senior engineering mentor assigned to her or him . As an IC Layout Design Engineering Co-Op you’ll be working in the Layout Design Group at Skyworks, Inc in Ottawa, Canada , to design and layout of complex RF test boards and multi-chip module (MCM) substrates for integrated circuit (IC) packages according to established company DFM / DFA and industry standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Designers will be fully responsible for all aspects of project management, including, project planning, working with engineers to identify scope of project, design and layout of PCBs, validating designs, deliverables, and creation of manufacturing and assembly documentation within the required cycle time per company and program requirements.
  • Other responsibilities will include loading of project data into document control system, providing peer reviews, and mentoring junior designers as needed.
  • Position remotely interfacing with domestic and international design engineering teams, in multiple design centers, across multiple time zones.
  • Job Requirements

  • A student enrolled in a BSEE or BSEET
  • Must be available to work full time for 12 months
  • Experience with PCB layout and design of RF, analog, and mixed signal PCBs using Cadence Allegro version 16.X. Must be proficient with all aspects of Cadence Allegro tool, including use of constraint manager and manufacturing functions, as well as padstack and library symbol creation
  • Experience using a schematic / netlist driven CAD layout process, including use of LVS verification.
  • Solid design experience with HDI stackups, including use of blind / buried micro vias and specialty RF dielectric materials, and trace width / spacing down to 2 / 2 or below.
