Position Summary

Kelowna General Hospital is currently seeking casual Special Procedures Radiological Technologists to assist in covering sick, vacation and special leaves.

Interior Health is seeking a Medical Radiography Technologists with advanced certification in Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Interventional Radiography or Diagnostic Mammography.

Reporting to the Professional Practice Leader, and under the direction of a Radiologist, this position performs special procedures such as Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Interventional Radiography, and Diagnostic Mammography as designated.

This Technologist may also assist the Radiologists during procedures, input patient specific data into the Radiology Information System (RIS) PACS and provide direction regarding procedures to student technologists and staff trainees.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Performs special procedures such as Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance imaging (MRI), Interventional Radiography, or Diagnostic Mammography as designated.
  • Assists the Radiologists during examinations including positioning, imaging, data processing and sterile procedures.
  • Inputs patient data into the RIS and PACS.
  • Assesses technical quality of images and applies corrective measures where necessary.
  • Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part-time or full time positions.

    Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiography Program plus successful completion of a recognized Advanced Certification Program relevant to the designated specialty area you are applying for.
  • Two (2) years recent related experience is an asset.
  • Current certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
