What you will do?The Technical Assistant is responsible for performing cleaning and calibration of equipment in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements, dispensing of materials in PPT laboratory, PPT inventory management and disposal of materials.

The incumbent is also responsible for providing help and support to Technologists and Scientists.

  • Assists PPT staff in samples preparation for excipient compatibility studies, set-up and operation of PPT equipment, formulation development, scale-
  • up and other manufacturing (Developmental and Good Manufacturing Practices) related assignments and documents them appropriately.

  • Cleans equipment and facilities used by PPT staff while adhering and complying to Good Manufacturing Practices and EH&S requirements.
  • Calibration of PPT equipment. Returns cleaned equipment to storage areas correctly tagged and documented. Organizes and maintains PPT laboratory.

  • Dispenses materials in PPT laboratory and maintains PPT materials inventory.
  • Disposes of materials after agreement that they are no longer required.
  • Swab sampling of PPT equipment and issues lab notebooks and equipment log books to PPT staff.
  • Participates in various training programs designed by PPT management.
  • Other duties as required.
  • How will you get here : Education and Experience :

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Pharmaceutics, Engineering or Chemistry.
  • Minimum 1 year of pharmaceutical formulation or manufacturing experience.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
  • Basic understanding of formulations and processes.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices guidelines.
  • Computer proficient. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to execute own work which is typically planned by others.
  • Available for shift work - days, evenings and overnights.
  • Demonstrated commitment to our fundamental principles of Integrity, Respect & Excellence.
  • Proficiency with the English language.
