The Commercial Banking Analyst works together closely with the Relationship Managers to assist in the following : Commercial Banking Analyst Credit Underwriting

  • Identifies and gathers all required information to prepare applications for credit.
  • Completes due diligence and investigation; analyzes and interprets financial and other information; assesses value of security;
  • prepares credit applications and makes recommendations for new loans, loan renewals and amendments within the guidelines outlined in WSCU lending policy and procedures.

  • Provides creative and flexible solutions in structuring credit with appropriate supporting commentary.
  • Submits recommendations to the appropriate approval level.
  • Portfolio Management

  • Reviews each borrower at least annually, coordinating financial information requirements with RM and CSA; analyzes information received to assess risk;
  • develops action plans to minimize Credit Union exposure where appropriate; and identifies solicitation opportunities for Commercial Banking, WSCU lines of business and preferred partners.

    Prepares recommendations to renew or not and refers to appropriate level for approval if over discretionary authority. Reviews reports (e.

  • g. overdraft, delinquency and maturity) for the portfolio to identify potential problems and contacts member to resolve issues;
  • develops action plan to ensure risk is minimized. Determines and recommends whether to retain, expand or de-market existing relationships based on analysis of credit risk, profit contribution and other considerations and submits recommendations to appropriate level of authority.

    Monitors projects being financed to ensure draw down stipulations are met; meets with members when appropriate and develops action plans to ensure loans are managed appropriately and risk is minimized.

    Resource for other WSCU Lines of Business Acts as a resource for WSCU employees, providing expert advice and assistance with analysis of financial statements to determine income available for other loan / lease applications. About You

    The ideal candidate will have 2 to 4 years experience in a commercial lending position.

    In addition, you will have the following competencies :

    of colleagues and stakeholders. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

    In-depth understanding of general accounting principles and financial statements, including cash flow analysis. In-depth understanding of loan documentation, legal and practical concepts of collateral.

    Basic knowledge of loan realization. Excellent knowledge and comfort level with various computer software programs, i.e.
