As a member of Team Fleury, you would be accountable for managing and delivering a wide range of operational services and processes in support of our team, including organizing community events and public meetings, collaborating with community organizations and associations on policy issues and events, external relations and project management.

This is an exciting, hands-on role, operating in a fast-paced environment.

We work as a close team to support our community. On many occasions we are all hands-on deck to ensure community initiatives are successful.

We have a strong team dedicated to improving our community and City. This position is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, active and engaged team while leading on important public facing priorities.

Description of Responsibilities :

Community Liaison :

All things community for Lowertown, Sandy Hill and Vanier

Support community organizations, residents and stakeholders to organize events, facilitate information sharing, address challenges in support community initiatives

Receive and respond effectively and in a timely matter to telephone calls : emails, and letters from constituents, City Staff, City Council members, and other elected officials from all levels of government

Parks, Recreation and Culture Team Lead :

Support community use of parks, sport, recreation and cultural spaces within our community

Support Park redevelopment planning and monitoring; renewal and expansion of facilities in our community

Support renewal and expansion of programming in our community

Develop community partnership to support local sports associations, arts groups and other stakeholders

Education & Experience

  • University or College degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Journalism, Communications, English or related program
  • Experience providing support to an elected official is desirable
  • Language, Certificates & Licenses

    English oral, reading, and writing

    French oral, reading, and writing


  • Mandate, structure, and protocol of Council and its committees
  • The demographics of the Councillor’s ward, current initiatives and issues within the ward
  • Knowledge of City services and policies
  • Competencies & Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative, requiring general direction only
  • Ability to handle difficult & complex situations
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively work independently and within a team
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as required
