Tasks to be Accomplished

  • Optical testing and set up of assemblies and sub-assemblies
  • Trouble-shooting of non-conforming assemblies
  • Design of testing jigs
  • Part and assemble inspection and set up using CMM
  • Detailed technical data record keeping and reporting
  • Test equipment set up and maintenance
  • Skills Required

  • Thorough knowledge of opto-mechanical principles
  • Knowledge of optical principles (ray and wave optics)
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of optical testing methods
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and optical drawings
  • Solid ability to read and interpret optical prescriptions
  • Experience & Education Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree in Physics or Optics
  • 3-5 years demonstrated work experience in a related discipline
