BCIT’s School of Health Sciences requires a temporary full-time (100%) Instructor to help in the delivery of the Food Technology diploma program.
Duties & Responsibilities
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Deliver courses, including lectures and marking.
Liaise with students and industry as required.
Teaching experience, preferably post-secondary with full course responsibility.
Education : Bachelors or equivalent, Masters preferred in Food Science or a related discipline.
Experienced in developing and implementing food safety programs based on HACCP principles.
Proficiency in food processing fundamentals.
Familiar with the BC food processing industry, federal regulatory requirements, statistical process control, sensory evaluation, and basic nutritional aspects of food.
Experience in food product development, food microbiology, and food analysis an asset.
Understanding of various learning styles and teaching strategies.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Professional attitudes which stress commitment, responsibility for professional growth, open-mindedness, and flexibility.
Preferable that candidate have 5 years minimum experience in the food industry.
