Job Description

What is the opportunity? This position is responsible for the evaluation and selection of risk and the establishment of premium levels which will ensure the profitable acquisition of new cases and the continued profitable retention of inforce cases within the assigned authority levels.

This position may also assist in the training, technical development and mentoring of Associate Group Underwriters. What will you do?

  • Achieve specific bottom-line, top-line and process performance goals, both at the individual and work unit level.- Contribute to high quality risk assessment and management within the work unit.
  • Support customer focus for internal and external customers.- Understand and contribute to rating, information collection, and workflow improvements.
  • Contribute to focused project responsibilities designed to enhance and advance the core underwriting process. What will you need to succeed?
  • Must have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience as a Group Underwriter- Strong mathematical skills along with solid communication skills, both verbal and written- Proven collaboration / team player mindset- Ability to think conceptually and outside the box, rather than in a rules framework- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently- Strong negotiation, persuasion and conflict resolution skills with a bias towards customer service- Knowledge of French preferred What’s in it for you?
