J.D. Irving, Limited is currently seeking a motivated individual for the role of Process Improvement Specialist at the Chipman Sawmill . Key Responsibilities :
Identifying, developing and leading process improvement projects across various areas of the sawmill using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
Data collection and analysis, including analysis of potential and active projects
Ensuring active projects are in control and measuring savings
Promoting continuous improvement through various forms of communications with a diverse group of stakeholders
Working with the operations team to identify priority areas for improvement
Working with divisional process owners to implement divisional initiatives
Education Required : Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a forestry, technical, or mechanical-related degree program
Years of Experience Required : 3-5 years of relevant process improvement experience, or 4-7 years in an industrial setting
Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Ability to work in a fast-paced team-based environment with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines
Ability to coordinate work with other internal departments
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, or willingness to obtain
