  • We are seeking a Production Manager to be located at ourWindsor facility located at 275 Eugenie St., Windsor, ON. You will report to our Plant Manager.


    We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to supervise staff of direct and indirect reports in a union environment.

    Other responsibilities include : coordination of workflow, training, safety, quality of work, financial responsibilities, and resources management.

    Production Manager is responsible for manpower and equipment in a large production facility with rotating shifts and complex systems.


  • Supervise and manage a staff of direct and indirect reports employed in the press, assembly and welding functions of the company's manufacturing process, in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements for a safe working environment.
  • Plan, assign, and direct activities for safe work practices.
  • Conduct interviews, performance assessments, evaluate training needs and implement upgrading.
  • Carry out timely disciplinary processes, and resolve complaints and problems.
  • Promote a good working knowledge of and compliance with company policies and the collective agreement as it relates to the management of employees.
  • Develop good working relationships with union and safety representatives, respond to their concerns, and resolve disputes including grievances.
  • Align the work of department functions with other departments to ensure work flow coordination according to production plans and customer demands.
  • Ensure accurate records and documentation is maintained.
  • Take a lead role in the strategic planning of production activities.
  • Identify the root cause of problems and implement permanent, corrective action.
  • Plan and schedule department processes to achieve optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.
  • Coordinate and revise work plans to account for production problems, plant shutdowns, maintenance activities, and new program launches.
  • Ensure the adequate supply and scheduling of manpower, materials, information and equipment to maintain high quality work functions on a daily basis.
  • Communicate information regarding operating methods, procedures, standards, safety, customer feedback, product deficiencies, and quality.
  • Administer the production data and related processes for departmental functions.
  • Manage the work and resources to meet business targets and contribute to the overall financial health of the plant.
  • Perform other duties that may be specifically or generally assigned.

  • University degree in an appropriate field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 10 years related manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience, including supervisory experience in a union environment.
  • Good judgement, analytical, problem solving, decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
