Valmet’s business continues to grow and is attracting significant interest from our customers. Are you the energetic and passionate individual to lead DCS Sales initiatives into the future?

A key part of the Sales Team assembled to win multiple mill-wide DCS replacement cases in Western Canada, this role is intended to be a right hand man to the Sales Manager working in a consultative role to demonstrate to the customer that Valmet has the necessary depth of knowledge and a workable plan to ensure a successful migration project.

Note : this position will report to our Toronto, ON office, but the selected employee will be based in Western Canada.

We are seeking an engaged and focused individual to be the right-hand to our DCS Sales leaders. The ideal applicant for this role will work with our customers at the mill level to :

  • Engage closely with the customers' project team in order to gain trust that Valmet is a partner and has the necessary depth of knowledge to execute a project of this nature.
  • Determine and track the customers' network of decision makers and influencers at each site, and their relative dispositions regarding vendor preference
  • Work with the Sales Manager, determine individual strategies to address and overcome any opposition or concerns about Valmet as a preferred solution
  • Perform site surveys / audits to determine the most cost-effective and feasible manner in which to execute the DCS replacement project
  • Together with the system hardware specialists, determine the optimum scope to both improve the customers overall cost position and Valmet’s competitiveness
  • Together with the Sales Team, communicate Valmet’s long-term migration plan in a workshop manner in order to gain customer acceptance that such a plan will ensure project success
  • Actively engage local Valmet resources, customer, and customer subcontractors to ensure that the needed resources are in place to activate the migration plan once an order is received from the customer
  • Provide regular progress updates to management / steering team in order that any needed resources can be mobilized when needed
  • Take a lead role in project execution to guarantee customer satisfaction and future reference value, including the possibility of nomination as Project Manager or Site Lead Engineer.
  • Requirements :

    To be an excellent match, you should be experienced with the Valmet DNA DCS system, be comfortable working in a Sales Team environment, and have strong organizational and networking skills.

    In addition, you should have a customer-focused mindset and understand our customers' business needs. The main driver in everything you do is to help our Valmet and customers succeed through our DCS solutions.

    In this role, the following requirements are important for success :

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Engineering or Pulp & Paper Sciences.
  • Knowledge of Valmet customer industries; pulp, paper and energy
  • Good verbal and written communication skills required
  • Strong motivation and willingness to grow
  • You are energetic, articulate, inspirational, results-focused and persistent. Ability and willingness to travel is required.

    Excellent PC skills are a necessity.
