What You'll Be Doing
You’ll be joining CIBC’s Financial Crimes Technology team. You’ll be at the heart of CIBC’s Financial Crimes Technology transformation, successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale projects involving multiple back-end systems.
As a Data engineer, you will build, implement and maintain easy, flexible, and personalized solutions that enhance the end-user experience across AML, Information Security, Corporate Security, Fraud and Compliance.
You are a strong team player able to interact effectively with both business and technical members of the team, and mentor junior developers
How You'll Succeed
Collaborative Development : Convert specifications about business requirements into programming instructions. Conduct impact analysis, and analysis of organizational needs & goals, for development and implementation of application systems.
Dedication to good development practices like unit testing, code reviews and pull requests
Programming Ability : Develop, review, analyze, and modify programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large-scale system.
Provide support for existing production applications, and recommend opportunities for enhancements.
Code Quality : Contribute to code-review sessions and ensure overall code quality aligns with business and project requirements.
Monitor production and user acceptance testing support to troubleshoot complex problems on applications and technologies

You can demonstrate experience in : developing data pipelines with Apache Spark or Spark SQ.2 3 years Spark Development experience using Java, Scala, SparkSQL, HiveKnowledge of Cloudera Big Data ecosystem (HDFS, MapReduce, Sqoop, Impala, HUE)streaming technologies such as Kafka and Spark Streamingingestion using Apache NIFIAgile development (JIRA / Confluence)revision control systems, such as BitBucket of Githubcontainerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)developing and deploying applications to the cloud environmentLinux and shell scripting
