Robert Half has a client seeking a full time Bilingual Finance Officer at their head office located in Ottawa. The individual in this role will work under minimal supervision in a fast-

paced environment and will directly report to the Controller of the organization. The Finance Officer must possess the ability to meet tight deadlines and must be proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word.

Your responsibilities in this role :

  • Prepare bank reconciliations
  • Closely monitor expenditures against project budgets
  • Review project expense reports and transactions; convert expenditures into Canadian dollars as required
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and budget variance reports
  • Prepare invoices and advance requests
  • Conduct quarterly and annual project financial projections
  • Assist with month end processing
  • Analyze variances from forecast and budget
  • Analyze trial balances
  • Qualifications for this role :

  • Must be fluently bilingual in English and French
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field
  • Must be eligible to obtain reliability clearance
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position
  • Excellent computer skills specifically in Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in a not-for-profit industry is a strong asset
