NAIT’s Automotive Service Technician program and Automotive Pre Employment program is currently recruiting for sessional instructors who are energetic leaders, committed to student success, and have outstanding communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
The successful candidate will :
Have strong technical knowledge in Automotives
Be able to work both independently and within a team environment
Bring passion, enthusiasm, and ideas that will positively contribute to the advancement and growth of the program and the culture of our collaborative and dynamic team
These program will prepare students to perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair automotive vehicles and light trucks.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory and industry setting
Participate in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews
Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials
Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records
Provide early and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention
Respond to student issues
Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions
Maintenance and / or submission of program / student records accurately and promptly
Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners
Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT 2021, NAIT’s Strategic Plan and NAIT’s Academic Plan as identified by the institute
Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities

Qualifications : High School Diploma
High School Diploma
Completion of Automotive Service Technician Alberta Journeyman ticket including Inter-Provincial Red Seal required
Minimum 5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyman ticket.
Teaching experience an asset
Remuneration : $33.55 $58.37 / hour based on a 36.25-hour workweek. Wage will commensurate with education & experience.
