ZTR Control Systems has an opening for a driven Sales Engineering Specialist on our Rail Commercial team. This person will be the subject matter expert on Rail Products for the Sales Team and will represent ZTR’s technical capabilities as necessary at customer meetings, industry trade shows, and other relevant events.

Having a desire to engage with customers and the ability to travel, as necessary to support the Sales Team, are essential in this role.

Responsibilities :

  • Review RFQs, tenders, SOWs or other guidance provided by Sales Team and determines optimal ZTR product solution to meet customer requirements.
  • Price applications of ZTR products and provide technical guidance and / or specifications.
  • Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to internal teams.
  • Work with the team on creating presentations, product documentation and targeted agendas for meetings with Major Customers.
  • Participate in customer meetings, design reviews and trade shows.
  • Monitor SOWs across customers and advise Account Managers on opportunities to cascade to ZTR products fielded with other major customers.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or a Technical diploma in Electronics, Controls, etc.
  • 5+ years’ experience with control systems engineering
  • 3+ years’ experience pricing applications.
  • Technical aptitude to understand and present solutions
  • Experience with PLC programming
  • Experience in rail industry and systems integration preferred, although automation industry experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of physical, electrical and environmental design standards for locomotive applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of available off-the-shelf power systems, sensors, electromechanical devices, digital and analog electronics.
  • Understanding of control algorithms and algorithm design practices.
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
