Join us today as we are currently hiring a Paralegal and Executive Assistant based in Dartmouth, NS. Reporting to the Vice President of Risk, Human Resources and Legal Counsel this role will :

Core Job Functions :

  • Provide basic administrative tasks which include but are not limited to , Answering calls, photocopying, filingCoordinate incoming and outgoing mail with discretion and confidentialityManage calendars, including : arranging appointments, meetings, rescheduling to optimize the calendar, handling conflicts and ensuring time is allocated effectively for senior leaders including the President, CFO and VP HR & RiskCoordinating and communicating travel arrangements as well as changes for the senior leadership team
  • Work independently and within various business groups to address issues as they arise in a timely manner
  • Prepare various reports, correspondence and internal communications
  • Invoicing support and administration within the Loss Control department.
  • Paralegal responsibilities to include : Contract review, organization (including renewals and comparisons / analysis) and drafting supportLitigation support including preparation of materials in response to undertakings, and coordinating swearing’s.
  • Debt collection supportFines / citation supportLegal researchFile management and organization

  • Other duties as required
  • Job Requirements :

  • A minimum of 2 years of Paralegal experience is required
  • Experience in administrative or executive assistant roles would be considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education in a related field is required
  • Computer skills specifically in Microsoft Office
  • Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Strong communication skills verbal and written
  • Excellent organization and time- management skills
  • Well organized, detail oriented and a proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills required
