The Meadow Lake Tribal Council is accepting applications for a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Justice Mediation Coordinator.
The successful candidate will work closely with the MLTC Justice Team and the Meadow Lake First Nation Communities to oversee / coordinate the Alternative Measures / Extrajudicial Sanctions Protocol(s) for adults and youth.
Relevant education and experience will be considered.
Training and mentorship will be provided on the job.
Mediation experience minimum of 25 mediations required.
Awareness of current First Nation governance systems, programs and service sectors with respect to protocol, structures, and procedures;
informed about Cree / Dene cultural values, customs and
Knowledgeable on relevant legislation and how the Canadian Justice System
Demonstrated ability in research, written communication, and computer
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively assist with meetings and presentation
Organized, dependable, responsible and able to maintain strict confidentiality. Must be able to work with clients in a respectful and understanding
Ability to speak Cree and / or Dene is considered a definite
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able and willing to
