Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that all maintenance activities in a facility are appropriately carried out.
  • Ensuring a record of all maintenance and service activities conducted is kept up to date.
  • Recruit, evaluate and coach maintenance team.
  • Delegate work to maintenance team, ensuring the timely completion of work.
  • Initiate purchase orders and other documentations for the procurement of spare and replacement parts.
  • Install, rebuild, service, troubleshoot and consult on all food processing equipment, such as kettles, pasteurizers, fillers, carton formers and closers
  • Supervise preventative maintenance schedules which include regular inspection of all electrical, mechanical and other equipment within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Repair or refurbish equipment when irregularities are found.
  • Liaise with outside contractors and manage vendor contracts.
  • Coordinate with production and other departments for feedback on the functionality of machinery and equipment.
  • Report all defects and damages to the maintenance manager and others as necessary.
  • Comply with industry standards and champion quality / safety regulations of a food manufacturing operation.
  • Effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
  • Maintains preventative maintenance schedules and product literature for equipment
  • Assists with developing and coordinating work order program
  • Creates RFPs and manages bid processes
  • Orders non-inventory maintenance items / parts and uses ERP to receive into assets
  • Serves as the system administrator for the plant’s CMMS
  • Tracks Key Performance Indicators of the Processing Technology and Maintenance Department
  • Tracks, and in some cases delivers, training to new Maintenance Technicians

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in database administration, preferably as a part of a manufacturing maintenance team.
  • Organized, appreciates detail, and appreciates the team dynamic
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
