What you can expect in a typical day

Successful Turnarounds are critical to our refining operations. As the Turnaround Planning Specialist and Risk Coordinator, you will plan, coordinate, and manage tasks critical to the successful management of turnaround planning.

This role will work closely with cross functional teams across a wide range of business levels including field staff, technical support, operations, middle management, senior management.

You will also promote and practice safety as a core value in all activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop risk mitigation plan; manage and lead risk register development, and update risk assignments. Prepare, arrange, and facilitate risk reviews.
  • Develop and prepare risk management tracking; communicate to appropriate stakeholders.

  • Schedule and facilitate Asset Risk Reviews (ARR) and Contingency Reviews with Turnaround Engineering, Asset Integrity, and Subject Matter Experts (SME’s).
  • Summarize, analyze, and report on past lessons learned; make recommendations for implementation for turnaround. Support the development of turnaround excellence initiatives.
  • Manage the Turnaround SharePoint team page.
  • Scope development : maintain and update the scope generator checklist. Coordinate formal reviews for outages added or deferred less than 12 months prior to the event.
  • Enter Management of Change (MOC) requests and steward resulting actions to completion.

  • Develop Event Premise document with Planning Manager; keep updated on a regular basis.
  • Plan, schedule, prepare for, arrange, and support third-party reviews.
  • Plan and schedule Risk Based Scope Reviews (RBSR).
  • Assist with the development and issue of meeting notes and preparation of management presentations as required.
  • Develop reporting and analysis of various turnaround processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and report on the Planning Team’s Master Action Log. Steward regular reviews and manage actions to completion.
  • Manage the turnaround file structure.
  • Provide turnaround communication updates to various stakeholders through different mediums on a regular basis.
  • What you’ll need to succeed

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Able to effectively and smoothly transition tasks in planning to the Execution Specialist and Risk Coordinator.
  • Able to effectively facilitate meetings.
  • Good working knowledge of Oracle eAM, Primavera P6, IQN, Oracle OPPM.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Knowledge of MS Access an asset.
  • Knowledge of industrial construction procedures, trade unions, and collective agreements an asset.
  • Able to work in a busy and often noisy work environment; ability to take site walks.

  • Education and experience

  • Post-secondary education in engineering, business, or related field, or technical diploma, or tradesperson certification.
  • 5+ years of experience directly working in turnarounds.
  • 5+ years of experience in risk management.
  • 5+ years of experience in a management support role.
