As Senior Engineer, you will serve as a technical manager for networking and telecommunications engineering mandates. You will work closely with our Automation, Instrumentation and Industrial IT groups.
You will also have a role as Team Leader for the various project engineering and site work phases. As such, you could contribute to preparing proposals, selecting technologies and developing networking and telecommunications solutions offered to our clients.
The incumbent will carry out the following activities :
Develop and maintain lasting client relationships.
Listen to clients and meet their high expectations.
Lead project scoping and proposals.
Lead projects by carrying out technical studies, quality control activities and technical reports.
Plan and coordinate work, from studies to commissioning.
Develop technical documents and provide technical training in this field of expertise.
Produce technical data sheets at client sites.
Assign tasks to junior engineers (engineers-in-training), technicians and drafters assigned to the project, review their work and assess the technical scope.
Get involved in commissioning.
Prepare lists and bills of materials in accordance with codes, standards, drawings and other established methods while complying with the firm’s quality system requirements.
Review analyses and deliverables produced by junior engineers (engineers-in-training), technicians and drafters.
Produce technical data sheets.
Plan, organize and determine client needs for new installations or expansions.
Provide technical assistance at project deployment and after delivery.
Participate in FATs.
Assume the responsibilities of Project Manager, including ensuring that all assigned deliverables are produced in compliance with quality requirements, on time and on budget.
Maintain synergy with the project team.
Interact with clients and provide technical support to the team in charge of business development.
Hold a significant network of industry contacts.
Establish and maintain client contacts.
Establish client needs and identify new needs throughout the project.
Lead the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Telecommunications and Networking OR any relevant combination of education and experience.
At least nine years of relevant experience.
Member of a Canadian professional engineering association.
Practical experience in communications systems design (design criteria, network architecture, IT and network infrastructure, equipment selection, etc.)
Relevant experience in configuration, deployment and operation for various telecommunications systems (Wi-Fi, wireless and wired IP networks, IP telephony, etc.)
Onsite experience and focus on work safety.
Experience in troubleshooting, commissioning and installation of telecommunications systems.
Availability to travel between each of BBA's Greater Montréal offices.
Availability for short- and long-term assignments at client offices or sites.
Bilingual (English and French) and good skills in drafting reports.
Asset : Experience with network design and deployment in keeping with best practices in the cybersecurity industry (IEC62443).
Asset : Experience in a consulting engineering environment.
Asset : Experience estimating costs and preparing and presenting proposals.
Asset : Experience in designing and deploying production networks in the industrial sector.
