Job Summary

We are currently looking for a motivated, passionate, and dynamic candidate to serve in an IT Business Partner role to enable the business to achieve their objectives through the effective use of technology.

This position will be based in our Oakville or Montreal Administrative offices.

The IT Business Partner has the overall responsibility to serve as the strategic interface with their assigned business units for the purpose of business technology strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management.

As the IT BP, you will proactively serve as a trusted advisor and be the primary point of contact to business line executives and managers in the Marketing & Innovation and Commercial functional areas.

You will act as a counsellor and advisor within the business to ensure successful introduction of new solutions, technologies, and applications to enable business processes.

The successful candidate will promote collaboration across the IT application and infrastructure service delivery teams, and other Business Partner Managers to provide first class IT services to the business as a ONE IT organization.

As a people manager, you will manage your assigned direct reports, support an environment that attracts, retains, and grows IT talent to ensure seamless succession and growth for the department.

In addition to the Business Partner Lead responsibilities, the candidate in this role will also be responsible for providing his / her own Business Analysis expertise to business-critical projects and ensure alignment with company standards.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities :

  • Act as Single Point of Contact and the key liaison across your assigned functional areas, including business units, the information technology department, and outside vendors.
  • Partner with business line executives and managers to define and prioritize opportunities, develop solution concepts and business cases for new investments.
  • Perform business analysis and prepare recommendations and business plans as needed.
  • Create and analyze relevant information and develop recommendations to present to senior management.
  • Possess a broad knowledge of most technical and business resources and use them to effectively coordinate team members and external resources.
  • Create shared vision of their respective solutions and facilitate decision making and arbitration relating to trade-offs both within and between different solution platforms.
  • Develop and implement sound rationale for portfolio management and managing product phase-in-phase-out plans, proactively anticipating gaps and overlaps within the portfolio.
  • Create consensus with other functions as to the timing of solution introductions and withdrawals.
  • Oversee the launch of solutions and help to maximize the positive impact on the organization.
  • Identify, screen, and evaluate new solution opportunities to address unmet (internal and external) customer needs.
  • Partner with key staff members to create strategic business plans.
  • Possess strong analytical skills, including an understanding of business economics and financial resources.
  • Utilize the appropriate technologies and ensure that customers have the solutions they need, when they need them, and in the media best suited to their requirements.
  • Collaborate with architecture and operations teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Office on the intake process and prioritization of candidate projects across the company.
  • Requirements

    Professional Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, business administration or another relevant discipline for the manufacturing and supply chain industry.
  • 8-10 years of combined IT and Sales operations experience with demonstrated expertise in the strategic use of process improvements and IT as an enabler of business initiatives and business solutions.
  • Broad and deep knowledge in sales operations (i.e., order to cash) business processes and technologies.
  • Experience in setting IT or business strategy and business IT alignment.
  • Experience within an industrial distribution / retail environment, or other related business.
  • Experience with IT Sales Operations systems (i.e. order to cash), EDI, B2B, VMI, CRM and Product Information management (PIM) systems a plus.
  • Good communication, logical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving abilities, and good leadership and management skills.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all management levels
  • Strong ability to collaborate, influence, negotiate and build consensus.
  • Experience leading teams - both with direct staff and indirect project teams.
  • Must be a well-organized individual, capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Must be resilient, possess a positive attitude and be able to manage customer issues and escalations in a calm and supportive manner.
  • Must be creative, detail oriented and capable of balancing the big picture with meeting the day-to-day needs of the organization.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills, able to manage interactions at all levels of business.
  • Travel

    Employee may need to travel occasionally, no more that 15% of the time to visit other IPEX locations (QC, ON).
