Job Summary

Opened inDecember 2018, the NEW Courtyard by Marriott Burlington is now looking forBistro Line Cooks to to join our culinary team at Courtyard by MarriottBurlington, the #1 Courtyard in Canada! The newest hotel to theBurlington / Oakville region features 135 guestrooms and suites with 1800 sq.

ftof flexible meeting space, indoor salt-water pool, state-of-the-art fitnesscentre, and on-site Bistro Restaurant & Lounge.

  • Abilityto prepare and present food orders according to Courtyard Bistro Standards
  • Payattention to portion control
  • Ensurescleanliness, proper handling and maintenance of kitchen equipment, utensils andwork areas.
  • Ensurethat the hotel policies and procedures, cost control policies and proceduresare followed
  • Cleansand handles proper reusable food leftover after meal service. Re-organizesrefrigerators, re-stock used items up to par and sets up for next meal period
  • Setup stock and maintain work areas
  • Maintainstandards of punctuality, uniform and personal hygiene as required by Hotelpolicy
  • Followsall brand standards as outlined by Marriott
  • Followsall policies, procedures and rules as stated in the Courtyard by Marriottsafety and emergency policies and procedures
  • Performany other job-related duties as assigned
  • Required Skills

  • Minimumof 1-year cooking experience preferred; hotel and / or banquet experience anasset
  • FoodHandler certification preferred
  • Soundknowledge of cooking
  • Neat,professional and well groomed
  • Possessgood organizational / time management skills
  • Excellentcustomer service skills are essential
  • Capableof balancing and lifting heavy items
  • Mustbe able to work days, evening weekends and holiday
  • Approachable,pleasant, polite, fast
  • Self-starterand able to work with minimum supervision
  • Mustbe legally permitted to work Canada (no work permits will be provided)
