An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Burlington Ontario Officefor a Lead Mechanical Layout Designer. Ausenco is looking for a highlyorganized individual who shares our commitment to deliver value to our clients.

As a LeadMechanical Layout Designer your responsibilities will include :

  • Management and coordination of a team of layout designers
  • Controlling, forecasting and monitoring of layout budgeted hours
  • Ensuring consistent adherence of drafting standards across projects
  • Preparation of mechanical layouts in both 2D and 3D environments
  • Preparation of drawings according to the project mechanical and layout design criteria
  • Application of defined regulations, codes, and standards
  • Facilitating interdisciplinary co-ordination with the design team
  • Supporting proposal managers with input to proposals and estimates
  • Complying with all Ausenco corporate policies and procedures by adopting Ausenco Quality Assurance and Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies, procedures and requirements
  • Qualifications

    Yourattributes and accomplishments will include :

  • Mechanical engineering Technician diploma or equivalent
  • 10+ years relevant experience in Mechanical Layout and design drafting of Mineral Processing Plants in a multidisciplinary EPC / EPCM environment
  • Gold and Cooper commodities experience
  • AutoCad / AutoPLANT (3D) or similar (Microstation, Smartplant)
  • Experience with brownfield, greenfield & international projects
  • Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, and codes
  • Well-developed written and oral skills
  • Ability to work well as lead, part of a team, or independently
  • Willingness to travel between downtown Toronto & Burlington locations
  • Experience in mechanical design such as chutes and plate work is an asset
  • Experience in Industrial projects is also an asset
