WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
Safety, anticipating guest needs, honoring our surroundings, and bringing your best every day are the core values we live by in order to provide dynamic guest service provided in all Fox Island facilities.
As Day Lodge Chef, you coordinate activities and direct the training of the cooks and dishwashers engaged in preparing and cooking food for our high volume kitchen.
You will work with team members within your department and others to complete the following tasks :
Prepare buffet meal for guests following recipes
Create an exceptional dining environment that is compatible with the island experience
Provide excellent service to both guests and team members
Ensure all guests’ special needs are met, including dietary restrictions
Work closely with team members to ensure that all supplies are ordered, received, stored and inventoried
Estimate food consumption, purchases and requisitions food and kitchen supplies, minimizing waste
Develop rotating menu for daily staff meals and coordinate the ordering and preparation of these foods
Participate in the provisioning of the island to include loading and unloading of supply vessels, conducting inventories and properly and safely storing items
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Valid ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification
Current CPR, First Aid Ability to manage and supervise staff
Knowledge of proper food handling and preparations standards
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Culinary School graduate or previous experience as Chef or supervisor in food operations, or equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required
