We are seeking a keen and enthusiasticPurchasing Associate to join our Mississauga, Ontario team on a contract basis. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager,this position is responsiblefor purchasing a variety of finished goods while ensuring compliance to company policies and pertinent regulationswithin our Print Finishing Solutions business.

For more than 60 years, our print finishing solutions have served a broad range of document communication needs for businesses worldwide.

Our products and services in this category are critical to our customers in distinguishing their printed materials and achieving a professional edge in today’s competitive market.

This role will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Key duties of the role include :

  • Check and process purchase requisitions, internal stock order transfers and 3rd party vendor purchase orders; review information to ensure it is complete, accurate, and that order parameters are clear and understood;
  • secure proper signatures; and ensure the purchases are completed and maintained in an effective, current, and accurate manner.

  • Determine whether products have been received, receive and review accompanying documents, and forward invoice to Accounts Payable for payment processing.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive vendor relationships, and educate vendors regarding company purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Research products and services, obtain accurate and complete price and delivery information, and determine best source for various purchases based on price and availability.
  • Track status of orders and report delivery issues to relevant stakeholders.
  • Respond to requests for emergency orders and contact vendors to expedite orders when necessary.
  • Identify problems and issues, such as poor product quality and quantity shortages, communicate with vendors, and follow through to ensure problems are addressed.
  • Receive, respond to, investigate, and resolves customer, vendor, or other procurement-related inquiries, concerns, complaints, and problems;
  • and address level of service issues or non-compliance with procurement policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Write, compile, develop, edit, revise, and produce required correspondence and reports.
  • Communicate purchase order procedures, changes, and directives to staff; interpret and explain applicable laws, regulations, codes, and policies;
  • and enforce all processes and coordinate specific work tasks with staff as well as with other units in order to ensure the smooth and accurate flow of information.

  • Research, compile, and maintain necessary documents for auditors and interact with auditors as directed.
  • Desired Skills and Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Operations Management, with a specialization in Procurement
  • 1 to 2 years of work-related experience
  • Supply Chain Management Professional designation considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the binding and laminating industry considered an asset
  • Experienced in the use of a PC and software / applications related to the work (Microsoft Excel and Word, and materials management software such as SAP, BW, GDW)
  • Good organizational skills with a pro-active attitude.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with various functional areas and international partners
  • Proven ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, with the ability to make sound judgment decisions
  • Ability to handle many situations simultaneously in a professional and courteous manner in a fast-paced environment.
